What missing evidence costs

Mexico's Federal Labor Law fines 250 to 5,000 UMA for failing to train workers or to follow safety standards, and the fine applies per affected worker (arts. 992 and 994). The UMA is the daily unit Mexico uses to set fines: MXN 117.31 in 2026.

How STPS fines add up
Fine per affected worker
MXN 29,327.50 to MXN 586,550
Permanent disabilities per 1,000 workers in San Luis Potosí, 2025
